Sunday, February 26th, 2012: Anderson, New York (A) Agree to $48,250,000 Deal
The euphoria surrounding a big name deal can sometimes overshadow the deal itself. Occasionally a team will mortgage its future to make a big splash, though no one in New York (A) was worried about that today as the club finalized terms with Brian N. Anderson.

Anderson will earn $9,650,000 per year over 5 years.

Anderson is hitting .274 during his 768-game career. He has 779 hits, 164 doubles, 20 triples, 138 home runs, 431 RBIs, 38 stolen bases and 435 runs scored.

Yankees officials presented C.J. Wilson to members of the local print media today as their new reliever.

The deal, worth $9,960,000, guarantees the 32-year-old a home in New York (A) for 3 years. It should improve the ballclub, assuming he plays to his potential.

Wilson owns a 23-29 won-lost record with a 5.19 ERA for his career. In 372 games he has recorded 19 saves, and the 32-year-old has 445 strikeouts in 539.1 innings of work.
Friday, February 24th, 2012: New York (A), Betancourt Hash out Details of Contract
The Yankees pulled out all the stops today to announce the signing of reliever Rafael Betancourt. The 36-year-old is one of the game's preeminent playmakers, and has definitely proven why he was such an attractive signing.

The contract is a 2-year deal worth $9,000,000.

Since breaking in, Betancourt has posted a 35-39 record with 55 saves in 498 appearances. The 36-year-old has rung up 566 strikeouts, has a 4.02 ERA and has allowed teams to hit .253 against him.
